BANA’s Goals: Building Awareness, Research, and Stronger Support
BANA works toward a future where an acoustic neuroma diagnosis is no longer a life-changing or isolating experience. Its goals focus on three key areas: awareness, research, and community support.
Raising awareness is a major priority. Unlike many well-known health conditions, acoustic neuroma remains largely unknown. Improving public understanding helps reduce isolation, supports earlier diagnosis, and strengthens recognition of patient needs.
Research: A Path to Better Care
Research is another essential focus. BANA actively supports and initiates research projects aimed at improving:
- Diagnosis and treatment approaches
- Long-term quality of life
- Understanding of symptoms and recovery
Expanding research involvement remains a key ambition as funding allows.
Community Connection
Community connection is at the heart of BANA’s work. Through support groups, conferences, and peer services, the charity brings people together who might otherwise never meet. These connections provide reassurance, shared experience, and emotional strength.
BANA continues to develop its services to ensure support is accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of location. This includes exploring ways to increase event accessibility and expand virtual support.
Together, these goals help build a stronger, more visible future for everyone affected by acoustic neuroma and vestibular schwannoma.
